19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial title since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since March of 2023.

Victory also means Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.

His counter-punching strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his capacity to play at the top level was over.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and compete positively, supported by an enhanced service.

He came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.

The opponent defended 4 early opportunities in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the win with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
